Hey everyone! So, I'm sitting here with a bit of a mishap—looks like my hedge trimmer cover didn't work out so well. The stock covers that come with DeWalt trimmers are a real hassle; they bind up and getting them off is a struggle. Pro tip: don't put your thumb behind the blade while trying to remove them, trust me on that! I'm curious to know what alternatives you all use for covers that are actually effective and safe.

Always wear heavy leather gloves! It might take a little getting used to, but I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. And just to lighten the mood, did you get blood on your phone when you posted? Hope your cut isn’t too bad!
Oof, I feel you! I oil mine before putting it away and still end up with slippery hands, so I totally get that fear. I also put PTFE spray on the inside of my cover; it makes a world of difference getting it on and off.
Yikes! That sounds rough. You definitely want to make sure you're staying safe out there. I’ve thought about making my own cover with stiff yet flexible materials—something like HDPE, maybe? It could be tricky to find the right length, but it beats the stock cover. Hope your injury isn't too serious, though!
