I'm considering buying earthworms from some local kids and was thinking about offering them $1 for 10 worms. Just to give you an idea of local prices, a gallon of milk costs about $7 here. Is that a reasonable price?

Walmart sells earthworms for about 24 cents each. That could help you gauge what’s a fair price for the kids. Just think about how much they’re putting into catching or raising them too!
Just a heads up, earthworms are an invasive species in North America, so while you might be doing the kids a favor, it's worth considering the ecological impact. But if you're just using them for gardening, it’s a fair tradeoff!
You might want to check out the prices at local bait shops to get a good idea of what they charge for worms, and then base your offer on that. It ensures you're not overpaying or underpricing their efforts!
That makes sense! But I live in a really small town with no bait shops around, so I'm trying to figure out what to offer instead.

Yeah, but they've been around since the 18th century, so it's not like we're bringing in new invasives any more!
