What’s a Fair Price for Shower Prep Before Tiling?

I received a quote of $10,000 to prepare three showers for tiling. The demolition work is already complete; they just need to hang cement board, apply thin set, and use aqua defense on all showers. Additionally, one shower will require floating, sloping, and hot mopping since it doesn't have a pan. I'm wondering if this price is reasonable.

Have you gotten other quotes? That could help you figure out if this one's a good deal.

Honestly, it's been tough to even get other quotes back from contractors.

You should also consider the potential liabilities involved. Depending on the materials used, costs can really add up!

What kind of liability are they responsible for? I noticed the quote didn't include any warranties.

That quote doesn't seem unreasonable at all, but it can vary based on the waterproofing technique used. Just keep that in mind when comparing.

Thanks for your feedback! We're actually going with AquaDefense with two coats for waterproofing.
