What’s a Good, Affordable Garden Hose That Actually Lasts?

Asked By GardenGuru92 On

I'm on the hunt for a reliable garden hose that doesn't break the bank. I've tried a couple of expandable ones from Amazon, but they fell apart after just two uses. I also bought a Verve brand reel from B&Q, but it leaks from multiple spots, which is super frustrating! My garden really needs some watering, so I'd appreciate any recommendations for hoses that are both good quality and reasonably priced. Thanks!

Consider checking out the Fitt Wintech hoses! They’re sturdy and have better wall thickness than most. If you want a professional hose though, be ready for something heavier to manage.

I tried one of those too! It's super robust, but I found it hard to pack up after using it.

For a good garden hose, I really recommend Tricoflex. They make some of the most durable hoses out there! I've had mine for years without any issues. It's a bit of an investment, but worth every penny in the long run.

Totally agree! Mine has lasted me about 30 years too, no leaks at all.

If you're okay with spending a bit, the Gardena RollUp is fantastic! The 35-meter version is a bit pricey at around £130, but it’s super reliable. Just be patient while shopping around to find a good deal.

I’ve been using a Hozelock anti-kink hose for years now. It handles winter well and has survived some rough treatment. I might have a few kinks because I can be clumsy, but overall, it performs really well!

I've had great luck with mine too! It’s been outside through tough winters, and it shows no signs of giving up.

Just a heads up if you’re going with expandable hoses: don’t leave them pressurized when not in use. That’ll just lead to them popping. If you take care of them, they can actually be a good value.

That's a good tip! I didn't realize that could happen. I'm definitely careful with mine now.
