What’s a Good Alternative to GridBOSS for Whole Home Backup?

Hey everyone! I'm about to set up a solar system and need some advice. I'm looking for a backup solution that can manage multiple FlexBOSS21 units, monitor loads with Lumin, and work with my standby gas generator. I'm considering around 16.5kW of solar panels and want to use two FlexBOSS21 systems, each with two batteries, and possibly add a third unit later. My house has dual 4-ton ACs and various appliances, so I need something robust, especially since we experience extended power outages. The problem is I can't go with GridBOSS because it only supports up to 113°F, and in my high fire risk area, that's not going to cut it. I'm looking for recommendations on whether to piece together individual components like a transfer switch and combiner box or if there's a comprehensive solution out there. Also, I'm curious about what others used with EG4 systems before GridBOSS came into the picture.

You might want to consider just using better inverters like the Victron Quatros. They're UL listed and good to go with the utility, and they include built-in transfer gear for mains and generator, saving you from the GridBOSS hassle. You can just run a main disconnect at the meter and feed your panels and subpanels from there. If you ever need more power, you can stack the units too!

Woah, really? That’s a bummer about needing the GridBOSS for code compliance. I thought I could manage without it. I'll check out the Victron stuff; I also heard about the EP Cube being a solid alternative.
