I'm looking for recommendations for a decent carving set suitable for beginners that are available in Canada. I've checked out Amazon, and the Beavercraft set seems okay, but I don't have much experience with any carving brands. I've heard positive things about Flexcut, but their prices seem a bit high in Canada. Am I missing out on other options?

A lot of people recommend against buying full sets because you often end up not using half of them. I started with a decent knife and gradually added more tools as I figured out what I actually needed. It's a good way to build your collection because you can focus on the tools that work best for you!
Chippingaway has a great reputation in Canada for selling quality tools. I'd say you don't really need to look anywhere else! They really focus on good quality gear for carvers of all skill levels.
While Flexcut is a solid option, there's a note that Beavercraft tools fall on the lower end of quality control, so you'd be better off getting Flexcut knives if you can. Also, steer clear of those Amazon sets; they're pretty hit or miss from personal experience!
