What’s Better for Indeterminate Tomato Plants: Trellis or Cage?

I'm trying to figure out the best support method for my indeterminate tomato plants. Should I go with trellises or cages, and why do you think one might be better than the other?

Honestly, it depends on the size of your plants. I use both methods! For larger plants, I have big cages, while smaller plants get tomato ladders. Both support my tomatoes really well!

I've found that cages often collapse under the weight of massive tomato plants, especially when they're full of fruit. I used to rely on them, but now I just use two T-posts with a metal conduit pipe across the top. I tie my plants to the string I run from the conduit. Just make sure to use a strong string because if it snaps, your plants will lose all their support!

That sounds like a solid plan! I'll definitely consider using the T-post method.

I’m a huge fan of the Florida weave method! It keeps the plants well supported and allows them to grow tall without collapsing.
