What’s Causing These Black Spots on My Bathroom Tiles?

Hey everyone! I recently renovated my bathroom, and I've noticed some black spots developing on the tiles. I'm wondering if these are just defects in the tiles themselves or if it's something more serious that I should be concerned about. The humidity in the bathroom is pretty high, reaching around 84% after showers, but I always have a dehumidifier running to get it down to the high 50s or low 60s. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

From what you're describing, it sounds like those spots could be pitting on the tile. Make sure you’re giving the tiles a deep clean before trying any other treatments. If cleaning doesn’t help, a sealant might help protect them from further damage too. Just keep an eye on it!

It’s tough to pinpoint the issue without seeing a picture, but it sounds like it could be mold or mildew given the humidity levels in your bathroom. If the black spots are on a bumpy surface, that could make it easier for mold to take hold. You might want to check out some cleaning solutions that are specifically designed for mold removal, and definitely consider applying a tile sealer afterwards to prevent it from coming back. Good luck!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into a mold remover and a sealer.
