I'm seriously confused by this plumbing setup. Can someone explain what's happening here? It looks like there's a water line running right through a waste line! Check out the photo I linked to for reference. Can anyone make sense of this situation?

It really is a wild situation! I can see someone drilling through the drain line when trying to connect a new water line. It’s almost like they were in a rush or didn’t care about doing it the right way. A proper fix would have been quick but they went for the easy route, obviously not thinking about future issues.
