I'm in the process of installing a new vanity and sink in my half bathroom, but I ran into an issue. There's this white dome-shaped cover that's in the way, preventing the vanity from sitting flush against the wall. It has a Phillips head screw in the middle. Interestingly, I've noticed another similar cover in a different room that's a bit bigger, but that room doesn't have any running water. Does anyone know what these covers are? I'm curious! I've included a pic of the bathroom cover and an edit showing what's behind the other cover after I managed to remove it.

That cover is likely a drain cleanout access. It's designed to give you access to the plumbing for maintenance. You should find it helpful if you ever need to clear a blockage!
Honestly, it looks like a bumper to prevent doorknobs or the toilet lid from damaging the wall. But considering how low it is, that doesn’t seem to make much sense in your case.
Yeah, I was confused about its placement too! I guess it’s just a quirky design.

Gotcha! I thought it might have been something else. Good to know it's just for maintenance!
