I'm curious if anyone has recently looked into professional landscape lighting and could share what the costs were like. We have a reasonably sized yard and we're aiming for good quality lights. I was pretty taken aback by the estimate from our landscaping company, which came in at between $14,000 and $16,000 for 35 lights in total for both the front and back yards. I was expecting the total to be around $5,000 or maybe half of what they quoted. Is $400 to $450 per light a typical rate?

Those numbers don’t sound too off for professional-grade lighting. Just think about it: transformers can cost around $1,000 each, and you might need two of them! On top of that, the fixtures themselves can run anywhere from $200 to $300 each. Plus, there's the labor to install everything, like burying the wires and placing the fixtures.
Good question! Are you getting quality fixtures or just cheap ones? For solid brass commercial lights with good warranties, the price can hit $400 each. It’s important to know what you’re paying for. If it’s top-notch fixtures, the price might be justified.
Good questions for me to confirm. They didn’t specify in the prelim bid, but I’d assume the latter based on pricing being over $400.
Thanks for your insight!!
