What’s the Benefit of Using a Jointer Jig on a Table Saw?

I recently came across a video demonstrating how to create a jig for using as a jointer with a table saw. Basically, it's just a piece of plywood with a square edge that you can clamp your workpiece to. My confusion is about the advantages of this jig compared to a standard table saw fence. Why would I need this jig if the cutting edge is made with the same table saw? Looking forward to your insights!

Sometimes, you really need that jig if your edges aren’t straight. The jig allows you to clamp your warped or irregular piece to a straight edge, which can then slide securely along the table saw fence, making it easier to cut accurately.

I guess what has me scratching my head is your cutting the jig’s straight edge using the table saw and the fence. So how is the jig more square than what I cut it with?

A table saw fence helps you make straight cuts, but that's only if you start with an already straight edge. If the edge of your board isn’t straight, it can wobble as it passes through the saw, leading to bad cuts or even dangerous kickbacks. The jointer jig provides a reliable straight edge that you can run against the fence, ensuring safer and straighter cuts.
