I'm in search of a sound system that can remain powered on at all times, allowing for direct streaming of Spotify songs whenever I feel like it. What would you recommend?

You might want to consider a regular audio receiver hooked up to external speakers, keeping it powered on continuously. It works well for streaming, and you can easily cast to it from your phone. We do this at home without any issues!
For a more flexible solution, you could use a Google Chromecast Audio paired with a receiver that stays on. Even though the Chromecast Audio is discontinued, you can still set up a Chromecast Ultra with an HDMI audio extractor connected to an amp or receiver. It's a solid option for continuous streaming!
