I'm on the hunt for a reliable angle grinder. It's going to be my go-to tool for cutting various materials, and I'm not looking to complicate things too much. Just yesterday, I was struggling with a Dremel to notch a washer for a bed bolt on my Tacoma, and let me tell you, it was not a fun experience. I need something that's pretty versatile, maybe a jack-of-all-trades for cutting and other tasks. Can anyone provide some insights on how to choose the right one from the huge array of models out there? Thanks a bunch!

The Milwaukee 2880 is a classic choice that's been reliable for a lot of users. There’s a variety of features to choose from, like flat-nose options, one-key features, and slide-switch models. Each of these has different model numbers, so you'll want to decide based on what you need. I wouldn't bother with the non-Fuel options; they don't hold up as well. If you're looking for power, stick with something like the 2880.

Totally agree with this. I’ve got the 2686 brushless model, and honestly, it's pretty soft compared to the 2880. I wish it was cheaper since it's only $10 less on sale! My previous grinder died on me after some tough use. If you want slide lock, go for the 2881 or a flat head like the 2886. Just remember that bigger batteries give better performance!
