I'm in the market for a reliable Dewalt chainsaw that's not 20 inches long. It seems like a lot of them have issues, and I want to avoid those headaches. Can anyone recommend the best small Dewalt chainsaw with the least amount of problems? Also, what's the difference between the 60V and 20V models? Price isn't a concern; I just want a good saw that I can count on. Thanks!

I’ve got the 60V 16” model, and it really does everything I need without any fuss. Totally recommend it!
I’ve been using the 12” 20V model, and it’s been great! Handled some downed trees without a hitch. It does leak oil, which seems common among chainsaws, but I don't think it’s a huge issue because almost all chainsaws I've had do the same. Just a heads-up about that!
Yeah, leaking oil isn't a game-changer for me either, but I’ve seen some reviews complaining about chain tensioners breaking and the adjusters feeling cheap. Just something to consider.
I've heard good things about the 60V top handle saw. I have the 20V 12” model, but it keeps cutting out, so I might've just gotten a dud. On the flip side, my 16” 60V has been my workhorse for years despite some build quality issues, and I've had to swap out some parts for better materials. If you're looking for something lightweight, Dewalt's 8” pole saw is fantastic for reaching high branches, even if it's a little wobbly. And their 20V cordless lopper is a game-changer—it’ll slice through a 2” branch like butter, just be careful not to overdo it!
I just started using the 60V 20” saw, and I absolutely love it! Hasn’t let me down so far.

I was eyeing that one in a kit too, but I noticed reviews aren't too favorable regarding the chain tensioner. Might want to look into that.
