I'm building my collection of Dewalt tools and want to make sure I'm getting the best versions available. I know there's a wide range of models and prices, and while I'm not a pro, I tackle a lot of DIY projects myself, especially remodeling rental properties. I'm after the top-tier tool in every category, regardless of price, so I can then hunt for the best deals. What do you recommend as the best Dewalt tools across all categories?

It really depends on your needs. The DCD460 is a fantastic drill for heavy-duty tasks, but it's not ideal for light jobs like drilling into drywall. If you want versatility, the DCD806 is a solid compact drill, or consider the DCD1007 for a more powerful option that's still manageable. Flexvolt is the way to go for serious pros—great for grinders, saws, and more.
For the absolute best, if there’s a 60V FlexVolt version of a Dewalt tool, go for that one. It’s the top tier. For the 20V line, the XR versions are usually the best choice. Some compact tools don’t have XR versions, though—so check out the 20V Atomic compact line instead.
In the 20V range, there's a big difference between lines. The Atomic is light and compact, while the XR series is better for pros, with superior durability. If you're serious about upgrading, focus on XR tools for their build quality.
