What’s the Best Door Choice for a 60-Inch Opening?

I'm looking for advice on what type of door would be best for a rough opening of 60 inches by 80 inches. I've been thinking about going with a sliding patio door or a center-hinged door, but I'm worried that a 30-inch door might feel too narrow for an exterior back door. Are there any other options I should consider?

If you've got a 60-inch opening, French doors might be the way to go! They utilize most of that space and give you a nice, open feel. Plus, they usually look great on back exteriors!

Totally agree! I opted for French doors and couldn’t be happier with how they open up the space.

I'd suggest avoiding sliders if you can, especially if you've had a bad experience like I did. My sliding door is hard to use and feels cramped. French doors definitely seem like a better fit in wider openings like yours!

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like French doors might be the better choice for both style and usability.
