I've been using my trusty yellow drill/driver for over 15 years now, and I think it's finally time to upgrade to something more modern. I'm interested in recommendations for specific models, especially since I do a lot of DIY homesteading and both building and taking things apart. My old DeWalt is just a basic chuck style, so I'm looking for something that can handle a bit more. What do you suggest?

When deciding between the M12 and M18 platforms, think about what you need from your tools. M12 is great for lighter tasks and ease of use, while M18 gives you more power for heavier jobs. If you're looking to build out your toolset, start with M12 and consider what future tools you might need.
If you're looking for something compact yet powerful, I'd recommend checking out the M12 Fuel line. They’re lightweight, great for portability, and still pack a punch for DIY projects.
Stick with Dewalt's yellow line if you've been happy with them in the past. Their 12V models are solid for a homeowner level, no need to go heavy-duty with 18V or 20V unless you really need that extra power.
