What’s the Best Dust Collection System for a Beginner Woodworker?

I'm brand new to woodworking and I'm a bit lost on how to handle dust collection. I just got a Dewalt table saw for my garage and I'm considering a Dewalt dust extraction system with a power tool activation feature, which costs around $400. However, a Lowe's employee told me that might be overkill for a beginner like me and suggested a basic shop vac that's about $120 to $150 instead. This will be my second investment after the table saw, and I'm looking for advice before I potentially make a bad purchase. I might also get a miter saw, planer, and jointer in the future that I'd like to connect to whatever dust collection system I choose. Any thoughts?

Dust extractors are definitely nice, but they might not give you the best bang for your buck. Instead, try getting the Dewalt Stealthsonic along with an automatic vacuum switch from Amazon, and you could set up a solid system for around $160. It's a perfect starter option!

What's a Dewalt Stealthsonic? Is it worth looking into?
