I'm looking for user-friendly software that allows for visual layout and dimension labeling in my designs. I'm already familiar with cut optimizers, but I find CAD software a bit complex due to the steep learning curve. Any recommendations?

I prefer Fusion 360; there's a free version available for hobbyists. It does come with a bit of a learning curve, but if you turn off the design history feature, it becomes a more straightforward tool for basic modeling. Once you get used to it, the possibilities are practically endless!
I recently wrapped up my first project using SketchUp. Sure, it takes some time to get the hang of it, but if you aren't in a hurry, you can learn at your own pace. Once you get into it, remembering shortcuts for things like duplicating objects really speeds up your workflow!
A lot of folks recommend SketchUp for its ease of use. It definitely has a learning curve, but there are tons of great video tutorials on YouTube that can help you get started. I find it pretty intuitive, but it might depend on your comfort level with software. Maybe check out a tutorial to see if it clicks for you!
