What’s the Best Fertilizer for My Garden?

Asked By Gard3nNinja92 On

I've never fertilized my garden or seedlings before, and I'm looking for some reliable options, whether it's store-bought products or home-made concoctions. I found the dried eggshell method to be too labor-intensive. I do have access to compost, but I'm curious about what others actually use and find effective.

I mainly stick to compost—mixing in coffee grounds and table scraps. I have a separate bin for garden waste. I prefer organic materials, especially since we consume the produce. My yield has definitely improved since I started, but I'd love to know if anyone else has seen a noticeable boost!

Do you find it makes a noticeable difference in yield? I’m also hesitant about using anything else in my soil without knowing how it will impact results.

Compost is my go-to! I also add some well-aged chicken manure and occasionally use Dr Earth organic fertilizer, especially for my potted plants. I mainly grow peppers, eggplants, cucumbers, and tomatoes, and I’ve had the best results with Dr Earth. I started using it to safeguard my plants against deer, and has worked wonders!
