What’s the Best Finish for Dog Bowl Risers?

Hey folks! I'm in the process of making some risers for my dog's food and water bowls as a little DIY project. I'm looking for advice on what finish to use. It needs to be waterproof, easy to clean, and safe for food. Any recommendations? Thanks a lot!

Tabletop epoxy could give you even more water resistance than poly, but it might be overkill for this project. Poly should serve you well unless you really want that extra protection.

I'd definitely go with a polyurethane finish. It's durable and water-resistant, which is perfect for dog bowl risers. As for the food-safe requirement, it's not as critical as you might think for something like a dining table, but I get the concern since dogs are licking it all the time.
