I'm looking for recommendations on a finish for my maple side table that can handle hot and cold drinks without needing coasters. I'd love the finish to keep a natural look while possibly highlighting the wood grain. The table has a waterfall design and will be positioned next to my couch for drinks. My family tends to forget coasters, so I want a reliable solution. Any suggestions? Also, what kind of color can I expect from the finish?

I highly recommend trying Saicos Hardwax Oil. It's super easy to apply, needing just one coat, and it's neutral in color so it won’t alter the wood's appearance or cause any yellowing. It's quite durable, typically used for hardwood floors, so it's ready for any water or abrasion. Plus, it has very low VOCs, making it family-friendly. The only downside is it can be a bit pricey, but since you only need one thin coat, it’s comparable to other high-quality finishes. Grab a small can and give it a shot!

Where do you usually buy it? Is it available in stores or just online?
