What’s the Best Heat Control Window Tint for Dual Pane Glass?

Asked By CuriousCat29 On

I'm looking to apply some heat control tint on the outside of my dual pane windows, but I'm struggling to find good options. I've seen some positive feedback about Gila brand tints, but they seem to have issues with being applied outside. Also, I've noted that brands like 3M and Llumar are usually only available through dealers, and I can't seem to find info on where to buy them. Any recommendations or experiences with these products?

For heat control, you might just want to consider shade screens instead. They’re generally safer for your windows and still help block out a lot of heat without the risk of damaging your glass.

Honestly, if you're worried about cracking your windows, applying tint to the inside might be a better option—it tends to last longer too! Have you thought about that?

I heard that dual pane windows might crack if you tint the inside due to heat buildup. That’s why I’m leaning towards outside options.
