What’s the Best High Torque 1/2 Inch Impact from Dewalt or Mac Tools?

I'm looking for recommendations on high torque impact wrenches. I've been considering the Dewalt DCF961 but I'm not sure if there's a comparable version from Mac Tools. What do you all think?

I've used the Dewalt DCF900, and let me tell you, it just powers through anything I throw at it. I haven't tried the DCF961 yet, but I've heard good things! If you're looking for sheer torque, you can't go wrong with Dewalt.

For lighter jobs, you might want to avoid the really heavy impact wrenches like the 15lb ones. I usually use the DCF894, which has a decent punch with 600 ft-lbs of breakaway torque. The DCF900 is also impressive, boasting 1400 ft-lbs! Just be mindful of your shoulder if you go heavier.

Thanks for the heads-up! I definitely don't want to end up regretting my choice when my shoulder gives out!

I had both the DCF899 and then moved to the DCF961. The 961 is a bit heavier and can be too much if you're not careful, especially with sockets. Make sure to use it wisely! I only run mine with a 3/4" adapter now because it can wreck half-inch sockets quite easily.

Wow, good to know! I'll definitely take it easy with the 961 to avoid damaging my tools.
