I'm working on finishing my basement to create a playroom and I've hit a bit of a snag. The walls don't meet the ceiling, leaving a gap between the upper wall and the exterior brick wall. Since I live in Minnesota, we experience freezing winters and humid summers, so I really want to insulate this space for better temperature control. I'd also like the insulation to look decent because it will be visible. Any suggestions for the best insulation to use here?

I hear you! I’ve got a couple of rooms that get pretty chilly too. Even with pink insulation from the previous owners, it didn’t help much. You might want to consider using spray foam insulation; it’s been a game-changer for my basement. It keeps things comfy regardless of the weather outside!

Good call on the spray foam! It can make a big difference in comfort. Just make sure to check if it needs a cover since it can look a bit rough if left exposed.
