I'm in a bit of a bind here! My living room has super high ceilings—two stories tall, to be exact—and I need to replace some lights. I've been looking for a good ladder, but I'm not sure what kind is best. I can probably manage to reach if the ladder is leaned against the wall, but maybe a folding ladder would be safer? Any advice on what type of ladder or alternative would work best for this situation?

My dad has this Little Giant folding ladder that's older than I am! They’re pricey but very flexible since you can use them as an A-frame or lean them against a wall. I used it just recently for some gutter work, and it was solid. Just make sure to take care if you go that route!
Honestly, I'd skip the ladder altogether for that height and just go for a platform. You can rent them from the hardware store for about $20 a day, or buy one for around $300. Ladders can be super dangerous, especially when they're tall. You might want to check out some YouTube videos on ladder safety too before making a decision.
I feel you! I have a similar setup in my house. I use a 26' Gorilla extension ladder. When it’s folded, you get roughly 16' of reach, and it feels pretty stable. When it's fully extended, you can get to 26', but do make sure you have a wall to lean it against. If your lights are recessed, I recommend stacking scaffolding to get high enough—using just a ladder might not cut it.
