I'm looking to make an arch top router template that I can use with plywood and MDF. I want to use a bearing trim bit, so I'm curious if I should be using plywood, MDF, or fiberglass for this, and what thickness would be ideal? Any recommendations?

I usually opt for 1/4" MDF for my templates. It’s easy to work with and gives a clean finish with the bit.
Honestly, I'd just go with whatever scrap material you have lying around. It saves money and gets the job done! But if you’re planning to use it often, maybe consider using plexiglass for better durability.
A good tip is to soak the edges of MDF with epoxy to solidify them, then sand them down to your desired size. That helps a lot with the wear and tear.
That makes sense, but can some materials be too thick or thin for the bearing trim bit?
