I'm currently making a wax blend using about 85% raw linseed oil combined with pure beeswax. However, I've noticed that over time, the wax hardens in the jar, even though I love the finish it gives. I'm looking for good alternatives or other ingredient options that might help me create a more stable wax mixture. Any tips or recipes would be greatly appreciated!

Check out the Lost Art Press blog; they have a free soft wax recipe that’s been really reliable for a lot of folks. It’s simple and effective, so it might be worth trying out!
If you're making your wax from scratch, try using raw linseed oil without any drier added. Just let it sit, and it should last for a decade or longer in the jar. I typically use ottoson linseed oil, but you can find a refined version that's low in drying agents. It sounds like there might be some interaction with the wax and linseed oil that’s causing it to cure too quickly. Just a heads up, if you decide to use tung oil, it can be more reactive and might not last as long in storage.
