I'm looking for recommendations on the best random orbital sanders out there. I've been using an old single-speed Dewalt that's served me well, but it's time for an upgrade. Since I'm all about Milwaukee tools and prefer cordless options, I'm eyeing the M18 sander. I also want to know what the best sanding discs are to use with it. Any suggestions?

If you're considering high-quality options, definitely check out the Festool ETS EC or the Mirka DEROS. Pair them with 3M Cubitron 775L discs for the best results. Just keep in mind that these sanders do require active dust extraction, which works wonders for keeping the workspace clean. Got to say, they’re some of the best in the game!
I've gotta second the Festool ETS EC! It's seriously the best random orbital sander I've ever used. Dust collection is top-notch, and I've had mine for years—never had a single issue with it.
I’ve got the M18 sander and really like it! I use it with 3M sanding discs on a hook and loop pad, and honestly, it works great for me. To manage dust, I’ve set up a shop vac and a bucket cyclone. Oh, and a little tip: grab an aftermarket hose adapter to help with connecting everything. It makes a difference!

So true! My Festool is the only product of theirs I own, but it’s been absolutely worth it. The cord situation isn't a big deal since it connects to a dust hose anyway.
