Hey woodworking friends! I'm in the hunt for a new sander and my budget is around 300 euros. I'm finding it tricky to decide which one to go for, so I'm looking for your recommendations. What sander do you suggest and why?

If you're looking for quality, I’d say go for either Festool or Mirka. They really stand out in terms of performance. I own the Festool ETS EC 150 and it's been fantastic! If possible, try both brands at a store to see which switch design you prefer. I'm a fan of Festool's switches, but some swear by Mirka's.
I just got the basic Festool model and I’ve been super impressed. It’s definitely better than anything I've used from a box store!
The Festool ETS-150/5 is a game-changer. It has a larger orbit which makes it super efficient. I've had mine for over a decade and it’s still my go-to. Just be sure to pair it with a good dust extractor – that’s key to maintaining performance.
Don’t overlook the Bosch 6” sanders! They’re really good value. I've used both the long handle and the standard orbital versions and they've held up well. Just keep in mind, they take longer to stop spinning, which can be a bit annoying!

Great point about trying them out! Both have strengths; it really comes down to personal preference on the controls.
