I'm going on a two-week trip and need advice on the best self-watering tool to put into my potted plants before I leave. I'm looking for something that fits into my preexisting pots instead of a new pot itself. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Before you head out, I recommend giving your plants a deep bottom watering a couple of days in advance. It should help them hold up just fine while you're away for two weeks!
I've found success using self-watering systems that can draw water from a larger bucket or even the back of the toilet (just a heads up to avoid cleaner tablets!). These can efficiently water anywhere from 2 to 10 plants, depending on the setup. Here’s a link to one I've used for years: [DIY Automatic Potted Plant Drip System](https://a.co/d/6u5QY3Y)! Good luck with your plants!
Do you think it’s better to get the WiFi model or just stick with the basic setup?
My uncle uses a similar system when he travels for weeks and his plants are always thriving. They work by having a porous end in the plant and the other in a water source, which siphons water as it dries out. He mentions needing one for small pots, two for small, and three for medium to large pots. Here’s a link to those: [Plant Watering Stakes](https://a.co/d/h9w69yy).
You might want to check out a thread I found about plant care while away. They have some good suggestions: https://www.reddit.com/r/houseplants/comments/1hmdksl/update_on_dextering_my_plants_while_i_was_on/.

This sounds like a solid plan! I'll definitely check out that system, seems like I could hook it up to a clean painter bucket and be ready to go.
