What’s the Best Starter Tools for Woodworking?

Hey everyone! I've recently caught the woodworking bug after building a shelf for my room. I've watched tons of woodworking videos just for fun, and since I've got some skills, I'm looking to buy some tools to kick off my woodworking journey. I already own a basic impact drill and saw, but I'm a bit unsure about what to get first. I thought about starting with a router to make pretty borders and cut thin boards, but I'm open to suggestions. My goal is to make a cool desktop with a drawer and a few other small projects like a bookstop and nightstand. I'd appreciate any beginner-friendly tool recommendations that don't require a lot of space! Thanks in advance!

For your projects, I'd suggest going for a table saw. It's great for making clean, consistent cuts, which you'll need for your desktop and other works. I know space is a concern, but a table saw is really beneficial if you want to tackle bigger projects later on.

I definitely see the value in a table saw, but it's just not feasible for me right now. Do you have any suggestions for a good palm router instead?
