I'm looking for recommendations on the best straight edge to use with a skill saw for cutting plywood at a 45-degree angle. Ideally, I need something that can handle 8-foot sheets, but if it can only manage 4 feet, that would work too. I've been considering the Kreg Accu-Cut but have seen some reviews that suggest it might slip. Any suggestions?

Honestly, you can get away with just using a nice straight 2x4 and clamping it down. It doesn’t have to be fancy as long as you secure it well before cutting!
Some people seem to confuse straight edges with track saws! But seriously, any good straight edge will do the trick. I use extruded aluminum, but just be careful with wood since it can warp a bit and mess up your cuts unless it’s perfectly straight!
I actually use a 6-foot aluminum level from Harbor Freight along with some clamps. It’s straight and doesn’t flex like some other materials might. Just make sure to keep it steady as you cut!

Good point about the wood! I didn’t think about warping. Seems like the aluminum is the way to go.
