I'm curious about the ideal temperatures for sowing carrots. Based on your personal experience, what's the minimum temperature you've found effective for getting those seeds into the ground? Any tips on timing or methods you've had success with would be great!

I sowed my carrots on February 27th, and the temperatures ranged from a chilly 31°F in the mornings to a high of 55°F during the day. They just started sprouting true leaves after about 35 days. It's nice to see they're coming along even with those cooler temps!
From my experience, carrots tend to germinate whenever they're ready. I like to plant early to get a good harvest before the heat kicks in here in Arizona. I usually start sowing carrot seeds around the end of February when daytime temps are between 50-60°F and nighttime gets down to 40°F. I keep the topsoil at about 50°F, water daily, and they usually sprout about a week later, no matter if it gets chilly at night! Also, I heard soaking the seeds for 10-12 hours before planting can help speed things up, but I keep forgetting to try it out!
