Hey fellow gardening enthusiasts! I'm wondering about the ideal time to purchase perennials. It seems like I always end up either too early or too late with my timing. Any tips from members who have experience with this?

I totally feel you on the timing issue! I'm also hoping someone chimes in with solid advice. It can be tricky to get the timing just right.
You can buy potted perennials from garden centers or nurseries any time of year, even if they aren't flowering or fully leafed out. Just make sure they're labeled as hardy perennials, which means they're frost tolerant. If you're looking for bare root perennials, autumn or winter is the time to go, as those plants need to be dormant before being dug up and sold.
