I've prepped my driveway for seal coating and I'm planning to use Black Jack Drive Maxx 200. The temperature is expected to be between 92-93°F over the next few days. The sealer recommends applying it when temperatures are below 90°F. Would it be okay to seal it tonight around 7 PM when it cools to 86-87°F, giving me about 15 hours before it hits 90°F again? Or should I wait until the morning when it's around 70°F, even though it'll climb back up to 90°F soon after? It's my first time sealing a driveway, and I want to do it right!

If you're mainly doing it for looks, just go ahead and seal it tonight at 87°F. It's not going to hurt, but remember that sealing isn't actually maintenance; it's more about aesthetics. If you're looking to really preserve your driveway, consider fixing the cracks with hot tar in the future, as regular sealer is pretty thin and won't last long. But for now, since you've prepped it well, sealing tonight should work just fine! 🙂
Look, sealing your driveway is great if you're aiming for that fresh look. Just make sure the surface is warm enough; I wouldn't see any harm in sealing it tonight. Plus, staying ahead of the bad weather or high temps can make a big difference down the road! Just don’t expect it to last if you're not doing the crack repairs later.
I usually advise people to mist the driveway with some water as you go. It helps cool it down a bit. I live in a place where it's super hot, and my driveway still looks new after sealing every other year—while my neighbors' driveways have really taken a hit without any sealer. So if it's mainly for aesthetics, sealing tonight isn't a bad idea, just keep that water trick in mind!

Thanks for the insight! I did seal the cracks, so I'm just looking for a refresh. I'll seal it tonight!
