What’s the Best Water for House Plants?

I've got a bunch of different house plants and I'm curious about the best type of water to use. I'd really love to hear from people who have thriving plants for their recommendations! Any thoughts?

I prefer distilled water since it ensures my plants only get what I add. My tap water is super hard, which can be a hassle with minerals building up. RO (reverse osmosis) water is another solid choice if you want to start with zero ppm and add nutrients yourself.

Totally with you on the distilled water! It’s the safest bet for my indoor plants.

I've found that using aquarium water works wonders! It’s rich in nutrients that plants love. Just make sure you have access to it!

What’s another good option if I can't get aquarium water? I typically use distilled water but I'm worried it might wash away the beneficial stuff over time. Thanks!

Aquarium water has been my go-to until I moved and now I don't have any fish tanks. Kinda tough startin' over!

I use well water that goes through a softener, and I've had to repot after about 9 months because of buildup. I had a RO system for my plants and drinking water before, which worked great; spring water is also good but I worry about the mineral content.
