I've been dealing with a pretty frustrating fungus gnat infestation. I've tried a few different things, like mosquito bits, but they ended up molding and didn't help, along with using some concentrated liquid BTI and a bit of Bonide systemic. I'm worried that I've been overwatering and that might be adding to the problem. I've never done bottom watering before, so I'm wondering: should I just put all my plants in the bathtub together, or should I do them one at a time? What's recommended for bottom watering effectively?

For bottom watering, you want to place each pot in a container with water, but be careful not to let it overflow. Let it soak until the top of the soil looks wet. That said, bottom watering alone won't solve your gnat issue. I recommend using a higher concentration of BTI and combining it with sticky traps for the best results.
I feel you! This gnat struggle is real. I tried bottom watering and found that it actually helps keep the top of the soil dry, which is good for preventing gnats. Just make sure the entire substrate gets moist. And yes, don’t lose hope! Sticky traps are a great addition while you manage this infestation.
