I'm trying to create a room in my L-shaped basement hall and I have a couple of ideas. One option is to go with drywall and install a regular door, which might take about 5-6 days. The other option involves putting up two sliding barn doors with drywall on the sides, but that would be quicker yet more expensive. I'd love to hear your suggestions on the best way to go about this!

If you're looking to save some money, consider using 2x4s, drywall, and a standard door. Doing it yourself can really cut down on costs. Just keep in mind that if you're planning on adding electrical outlets, you'll want to run the wiring through the ceiling and down into the walls. And don't forget to avoid putting the wall right on top of the flooring; make a slot for the bottom plates instead!
That's a solid point about the electrical! I forgot to mention that's a key part of planning any room.
