What’s the Best Way to Connect a Washing Machine Hose to a Faucet?

I'm trying to connect a washing machine hose (3/4 FGHT) to a standard faucet (1/2 MIP), but I'm having trouble. I bought an adapter, which I found [here](https://www.menards.com/main/plumbing/pipe-fittings/garden-hose-fittings/brass-mght-x-fip-adapter/gh-668m/p-1642874308160583-c-8551.htm?exp=false), but it just won't fit the faucet threads. Can anyone suggest the correct adapter to use for this setup? Also, what is this product intended for? I learned that this adapter is often used to connect shower heads to garden hoses, which isn't what I need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter? That could do the trick. Just keep in mind that not all adapters are created equal; make sure to double-check the thread compatibility. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion! I did try that, but the faucet's '1/2' seems bigger than those adapters are made for. It gets really confusing with all the sizes. ?

When you say 'standard faucet', are you referring to a kitchen sink aerator thread? Those have lots of adapters available. I remember seeing a gauge at the hardware store that you could use to match your aerator to the right adapter. It really helps narrow down the options!

Yeah, that's what I mean. Just a regular bathroom or kitchen faucet here in the US, like [this one](https://www.menards.com/main/bath/bathroom-faucets/bathroom-sink-faucets/plumb-works-reg-two-handle-4-centerset-chrome-bathroom-faucet-with-push-pop-up/011pw42112cp/p-1563517861271-c-5909.htm). I'm looking at the supply lines, which are supposed to be 1/2 inch.
