I'm working on a slingshot and need to dry some freshly cut birch wood without it splitting or cracking. The handle is about 4 cm thick, with additional pieces that are 3 cm and 2.7 cm thick. The thickest part is around 6 cm and the thinnest is 4 cm. It's approximately 22 inches long overall, but the handle will be trimmed to 30 cm. Any tips on how to do this successfully?

Post some pictures of your wood so we can see what you're working with! Just a heads up, if the wood is going to crack, it might still happen regardless of what you do. We can help minimize the chance, but there's no foolproof method.
Here's an example of similar wood—wondering if it helps!

Thanks for the insight! I'll try to get some pics up soon; my phone's acting up.
