Hey folks! I accidentally burned a patch on my balcony, and now I need some advice on how to repair it. The top layer is scorched, and I can see fiberglass strands underneath. I've scraped off the burnt material, but I'm not sure what to do next. Should I get a fiberglass or epoxy repair kit, or is there something else I should consider for balcony surfaces? Also, do I need to sand it down more before applying anything? I want the repair to be safe, weather-resistant, and not too noticeable compared to the rest of the balcony. Any tips or product recommendations would be super helpful! Thanks!

You might also want to consider using a fast-setting mortar. It can look gray at first but lightens up after it dries. Make sure to use a cement or mortar primer to help it adhere better. And if you want to mask it up afterward, a nice porch patio paint can blend it all in smoothly!
Yeah, painting over afterward is a smart idea! It’ll help hide any imperfections.
To tackle that burn, first off, make sure to sand it down nicely with some fine grit wet/dry sandpaper—around 80 to 120 should do the trick. After that's done, go for a short strand fiberglass filler or a fiberglass repair kit; it's usually pretty effective for these kinds of damages. Just be sure to follow the instructions on the kit for the best results! Good luck!
That's a solid plan! Just remember to wear a mask while sanding; fiberglass dust can be pretty nasty.
Thanks for the tip! I'll grab some masks for the sanding.

Great suggestion! I’ll definitely consider that after the repair.
