What’s the Best Way to Fix a Cabinet with a Pipe and Water Damage?

I have a cabinet above my oven that has a pipe running through it, which creates some wiggle room that mice could potentially use to get through. I recently dealt with a mouse problem, but now I'm unsure how to fix this gap around the pipe or what the pipe is for. The top of the cabinet also seems to have water damage and is warped. Should I be using foam filler, caulk, or something else? Here's a photo for a better idea: https://imgur.com/a/j20XBlz

Caulk could work too! It’s good for sealing off those gaps, just make sure to get one that's sturdy enough to deal with a little movement.

I’d recommend stuffing the gap with steel wool. Mice can chew through almost anything, but they can't get through steel wool. It’s a simple and effective solution!

Totally agree! Steel wool is definitely the way to go. It’s easier than trying to seal off with more complicated materials.

I’m wondering about that pipe as well. It looks really out of place, and it could be hiding something like electrical or plumbing. Given the wiggle, I’d lean towards thinking it’s electrical. Pretty strange setup though!
