What’s the Best Way to Fix Broken Plantation Shutter Slats?

I've got plantation shutters with a few slats that are in need of repair—specifically, about 4 or 5 slats. I've been wondering if there are any easy DIY repair kits out there, or if I should just go to the manufacturer or hire a pro for the job. What would you recommend?

From what you described, it sounds like the part that holds the slat in place might be where the problem is. I've had slats break at that exact point too because the wood is pretty thin. I tried using duct tape as a temporary fix to keep the slats in place, but honestly, it didn't hold for too long. You might want to look for sturdier replacements or consider getting a kit designed for fixing them. It's worth checking local hardware stores too!

It really depends on what part of the slats is broken. If the slats themselves are damaged or if it's the mechanism that allows them to adjust, your options can vary. I had a similar issue and found replacement parts on Walmart's website, which worked pretty well for me.
