What’s the Best Way to Get Rid of Carpet Tape Residue?

Has anyone successfully removed sticky residue left by carpet tape? I've tried using a steamer and a scraper, but the residue is still there and it's driving me crazy! Any tips or tricks would be appreciated.

If you’re dealing with a really stubborn area, I've heard of people using a torch cautiously. Just be careful! WD-40 can also do the trick for sticky residue, and you can usually clean it out afterward. If you want something more reliable, consider asking at a janitor supply store for other products that might work better.

Yeah, WD-40 is a solid backup plan! Just make sure to clean it well after.

I've found that using "Goof Off" can really help, but definitely test it in a less noticeable spot first—it can sometimes cause discoloration on the carpet.
