What’s the Best Way to Hang a Bookshelf That’s Not Designed for It?

Hey everyone! I'm new here and could really use some help. I'm revamping a closet and want to hang a bookshelf in the corner for clothing and pantry items since my kitchen space is limited. I thought about using a French cleat mount for attaching the bookshelf to the wall studs, but I'm concerned that the bookshelf won't be sturdy enough because it has a thin particle board back. Any suggestions on how to make this setup more durable? Thanks in advance!

One option is to add support from the bottom of the bookshelf if possible. If it's a cheaper model meant to sit on the floor, you'll want to ensure that any load it carries still gets transferred to the floor. Using shelf brackets underneath can help with that!

I considered that too, like using a few shelf brackets. What about supporting the top as well? Thanks!
