What’s the Best Way to Harden Off Peppers Before Transplanting?

I'm currently on day 3 of hardening off my pepper plants. Today, I had them outside for about 3 hours in a partially shaded area. How long should I continue this hardening process before I can permanently plant them outdoors?

Honestly, hardening off is sometimes overdone! I just wait until the nighttime temperatures are consistently above 50°F, then I let my peppers stay outside permanently. I find it easier than bringing them in and out every day. Works great for me, and my plants are thriving!

Have you ever had issues with temperatures dipping to 45°F at night? That's been my experience lately.
