I'm installing a Redi Exit egress window, but I'm confused because it doesn't have the usual screw holes like other windows I've dealt with. Should I just drill a hole through the outer vinyl extrusion on the side jamb so I can screw through the inner vinyl into my wood frame? Here's a link to the window for reference: https://www.redi-exit.com/products/egress-window-casement-in-swing?variant=43445250097405&country=US¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwqv2_BhC0ARIsAFb5Ac-AyaamzJVlOQd4DqChh2hQC9wxhHBN03iJlWSPOLRVukHAPJXhSocaAhdaEALw_wcB

Check the installation instructions on the window's webpage; they should provide guidance on how to set things up correctly. It sounds like they have specific recommendations for attaching it, especially if you're using a pressure-treated frame. Make sure to follow their specs for the screw size to ensure a secure fit!

I checked the instructions, and I found them a bit confusing too. It mentions using "¼” x 2 ¾” aluminum or stainless steel screws," but that doesn’t seem to match up with standard wood frames. It really does seem like drilling through both vinyl layers is the only option, but be mindful of how deep you go to avoid damage.
