What’s the best way to level my driveway without causing flooding or hurting my neighbor’s property?

So, I've got a bit of a situation with my driveway. Recently, the road was repaved, and now it's sitting slightly lower, which is causing issues as I drive my car in and out. The incline difference is enough that my front bumper sometimes scrapes, and it's frustrating. I've tried making some adjustments, but I'm concerned about dealing with water buildup during rains since we're on a downhill slope. I need a solution that doesn't cover the storm drains and can drain naturally or be removable. What are my options without messing up my lawn or my neighbor's property values?

You might want to reach out to your local town about the road changes; they might have some responsibility in fixing this. But if you’re looking to handle it yourself, concrete grinding could be your go-to. There are companies that specialize in that for sidewalks, and they could shave down the edge of your driveway to help with the height difference without causing issues.

I get what you mean. The city might not be quick to help, especially in your case. It’s good to know that there’s an option like concrete grinding available. Definitely worth checking out.

I had a similar issue. My trick was to take sharp turns when backing in and out. If you're coming in at a big angle, it can help you avoid scraping.

That sounds like a practical workaround! I usually approach straight on, so I'll try coming in at an angle instead. Thanks for the tip!

Lowering that driveway edge could save you a lot of hassle! It's probably the simplest fix here.
